States with Appropriate Cannabidiol (CBD)

1. Alabama

On Apr. 1, 2014, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley signed SB 174 , referred to as “Carly’s Law,” that allows an affirmative defense against prosecution for CBD possession by people enduring a debilitating condition that is epileptic. The legislation states that “a prescription for the control or utilization of cannabidiol (CBD) as authorized by this act will probably be supplied solely because of the UAB University of Alabama at Birmingham Department for the debilitating epileptic condition.” Since cannabis is unlawful under federal rules, physicians aren’t permitted to write “prescriptions” for it.
